Unlock Aid sent you a Valentine
Roses are red, violets are blue, Without transparency, how can I trust you?
Dear friend,
We all know that healthy relationships require trust.
So that’s why this Valentine’s Day, we need to talk about bid candy, which is breaking trust and causing harm within the global development community.
Over the past five years, USAID’s US-based contractors have won nearly $60 billion, but they’ve sub-awarded just over 14 percent of that to local organizations. In a survey we published last year, nearly 74 percent of local groups and non-traditional partners told us that USAID’s largest contractors routinely cut them out of promised work.
It’s time to stop bid candy. Everyone has a role to play. Click here to take action: www.unlockaid.org/bidcandy
Have you been a victim of bid candy? Tell us your story.
To progress,
Unlock Aid
